Using the collection

Read, preview, save and explore the full illustrations.

Last updated: 2026-10-15

1. Find a question

Open Subjects, choose an illustration and read its definition, mechanism steps and assumptions. The source links let you trace the explanation further.

2. Watch the preview

The public player shows a recording. Play or pause it to follow the mechanism. It does not expose the full simulation controls, and changing the video position does not change a model parameter.

3. Save a favorite

Sign in with your personal account and use the save action on a figure. Find saved figures in Library. A favorite is a bookmark, not a purchase or an access grant.

4. Use an unlocked figure

When your account has access, the figure page provides its full interactive experience and available downloads. Controls vary by figure: follow the hints beside that figure rather than expecting every model to support the same interactions. If access cannot be loaded, retry or sign in with the account that holds it.

5. Keep a local copy

Download the available package and retain its README and license notices. Follow that package's instructions for opening or running it; source files and self-contained HTML may have different requirements. Retaining downloaded files does not depend on an update window staying open.

In a classroom or course

You may demonstrate a figure while signed into your own account. Do not share account credentials. Use and redistribution of MIT-covered code follow its license, including commercial use with the required notices. Original website content has separate terms; see License and use.

Report a problem

Send the figure URL, browser, expected behavior and what happened through Contact. Do not send passwords, login codes or full payment-card details. Screenshots should omit personal information.

This collection is intended for adult self-learners, teachers and adult higher-education users. Account creation and purchases require you to be at least 18 and meet the applicable age of majority; see Terms of service.
