License and use

Understand source-code rights, account access and original website content.

Last updated: 2026-10-15

MIT-covered source code

Where a package identifies code as MIT-licensed, the MIT license allows use, copying, modification, merging, publication, distribution, sublicensing and sale, including commercial use. Copies or substantial portions must retain the copyright and permission notices. The code is supplied without warranty under that license. Read the MIT license and the notices shipped with each package.

We do not add a ban on resale or commercial use to MIT-covered code. Buying hosted access is not a prerequisite for rights you already have to code received under MIT. Check any separately licensed dependencies or assets individually.

Personal website accounts

Website accounts are for individuals. Keep credentials private; a classroom demonstration does not require sharing your account. Account access and hosted delivery are services, distinct from the license attached to downloaded code.

Original explanations and branding

The website's branding, layout and original editorial explanations are not automatically MIT-licensed merely because an illustration uses MIT code. You may display the public pages in a classroom or course and link to them with attribution. Republishing substantial original editorial material or using branding to suggest endorsement requires separate permission, except where applicable law permits the use. This does not restrict MIT-covered material or statutory rights.

Downloads and updates

The planned US$9 one-time offer includes the full library and 12 months of additions and updates from purchase. Acquired versions remain yours to use under their applicable licenses; downloaded files do not expire. No fixed release cadence or perpetual hosting is promised. Sales remain closed.
